The CareerBryan Wiseman started acting when he was a child. His very first professional TV appearance was in a commercial for Channel 7 Australia titled "Chuck-A-Lucky-Seven" as the hero. Shortly after, he was cast as The Frog Owner in the film Fatty Finn. From there Bryan worked constantly appearing in dozens of commercials. He seldom spent time at school and his studies suffered. But he never liked school anyway. His 'unique' trademark - big ears and buck teeth managed to get him lots of work. But there was a down side. Because of his looks, he was teased constantly when he did go to school and it got so bad he ended up transferring to another school in grade 5. "I recall my teacher getting me up in front of the class and told everyone I had taken over 80 days of school the year before, failed my exams and labelled me a failure. It was one of the most humiliating things I have ever experienced. The bullying in the school yard got worse after my teacher encouraged it". Bryan left that school shortly after. By the time he reached high school, he put his acting career on hold to concentrate on his education. But his heart wasn't in it and he wanted to go back to acting. By law, he was allowed to leave school at the age of 14 years and 9 months and Bryan did just that. He returned to acting and got a job at KMart to put himself through drama school. By the age of 16 he was back making television appearances including Rafferty's Rules, Willing and Abel and many commercials in between until landing a role in the mini series, Living with the Law starring opposite Russell Crowe. Bryan has continued to work constantly ever since. He played an ageing transvestite in the film All the Way and shortly after took on a semi regular role playing Dr Wilson in Home and Away which lasted for over 4 years. He also appeared in Water Rats, Above the Law, Backberner, Crash Palace and as a TV Presenter with NBN Television to name a few. He has worked consistently in radio for stations across Australia (including a long stint with Stan Zemanek on 2UE where he was paid to call up in a host of different characters). In 2010, Bryan tried his hand at reality television after accepting an offer to appear in Come Dine With Me Australia. "When I did Come Dine, I was outrageous as possible and thought I'd get tongues wagging and it worked - a bit too well! There were some scenes where I showed the true me (like how I cared for my Mum for 20 years after she fell victim to a stroke), but all of that never went to air. It was heaps of fun regardless and I don't regret it for a minute! It all seems like so long ago because I've worked on heaps of other exciting shows since then"! In between acting and voice over work Bryan runs a foster home for abused and abandoned animals. He is a true animal lover and is a Life Member of the RSPCA. He has also become a very successful property investor. Apart from his animals, Bryan likes nothing better than to spend time at his properties in Far North Queensland to just 'chill'. Bryan has also appeared in ABC's Rake, COPS LAC, Today Tonight and in late 2010 went to the UK to film "Taboo" for Nat Geo. Taboo aired coast to coast across the US in May 2011 with great success. It will be aired in UK, Europe, NZ and Australia in August 2011. Taboo delves into Bryan's private world of shopping addiction.
